20Twenty Productions CIC was created on 25th October 2011. We are a not-for-profit organisation that uses creativity and participation to engage and empower children and young people so they may build confidence, essential skills for life and one or more creative skill sets. Working strategically, collaboratively and directly as creative practitioners we inspire young people to realise their potential whilst growing as leaders. Our programmes, projects and events are designed with and for young people. 20Twenty Productions supports creative industry development; empowering young people to gain qualifications and access real world opportunities. If you would like to know more about the work we do please email us.

Community Ambassador Programme

Social action is all about people coming together to improve their own lives and the lives of others by trying to address issues that affect their communities. This can be achieved through activities such as volunteering, raising money, community action or just simple acts of kindness. The Community Ambassador Programme supports and inspires young people to get involved in volunteering and social action within their community.

Despite lockdown the Community Ambassadors have been meeting on a weekly basis through Zoom sessions and have been active in communicating with elderly people in their community. Working in partnership with the Live Smart team at Clarion Housing and FACT's Befrienders programme over 80 isolated elderly people have received a letter from an Ambassador just to keep in touch.

The Community Ambassadors are currently working on many things this year, such as:

  • Support mental health in young people
  • Intergenerational work
  • Training and personal development
Thanks to Clarion Futures for continuing to fund this fabulous project.

Social action projects are carried out by individuals or groups of people working together for the good of others and, importantly, not for profit. The objective of this project is to bring about social change that will benefit an individual, a community or wider society. We, as an organisation, want to give young people an opportunity to connect and make a positive contribution to their community, have a voice, feel valued and listened to, increase resilience, increase confidence, increase self esteem, increase levels of youth aspiration and reduce isolation. This is particularly important in rural, less affluent areas where young people may have less opportunities to engage in their community. This may be due to a lack of resources, family structure, low income, rural isolation, cultural challenges or even prejudice.

The programme launched in April 2019 and, to date, over 80 young people have already achieved over 2500 volunteering hours. They have helped to create dementia gardens, completed park clear ups, supported young children with the Summer Reading Challenge, run creative workshops for younger children, stewarded at local events, ran activities at National Play Day and organised their own fundraising events.

If you would like to get involved with 20Twenty Productions' Ambassador programme, please email Katherine or Eden or call our office on 01354 652769.

"Without our funders, 20Twenty Productions would not exist. In a world where all children and young people were treated with respect, equality, and afforded creative and artistic opportunities to express themselves, we would not need to."
